Interested in participating in grassroots advocacy and education? In creating safe spaces for LGBTQIA2S+ people of all ages? In fighting for queer liberation in Wenatchee and North Central Washington?

Wenatchee Pride Board of Directors is a group of majority-queer community members, united in our passion for meaningful, sustainable social change and dedication to helping the most vulnerable and isolated community members feel safe and supported. We also have a damn good time doing it!

Wenatchee Pride is committed to creating spaces for all identities and voices to participate, particularly queer BIPOC and trans folks. From outreach and education to special events and gatherings, there is a place for every person to make a difference in our community.

Please review the basic board responsibilities below. You must live in one of the following counties to be considered: Chelan, Douglas, Grant or Okanogan.

We are willing to have tough conversations that hold us accountable to our commitments. We welcome input and will work to incorporate all practical feedback to help achieve our goals.

  • Assist the board in carrying out its fiduciary responsibilities by assuring the organization is being managed in a fiscally responsible manner

  • Attend training and events — or review articles and resources online — on non-profit board member duties and responsibilities, and share the information with the board at large to assure that Wenatchee Pride meets its state and federal obligations to maintain its non-profit status

  • Suggest possible nominees to the board who can make significant contributions to the work of the board and the organization

  • Contribute to Wenatchee Pride’s fundraising and development efforts and sustainability

  • Inform others about, and promote, the organization and its mission, particularly in LGBTQIA2S+ or intersectional spaces.

Time Commitments

Depending on the time of the year, board members can expect to spend an average of 2 to 10 hours a month preparing for programs and services, attending monthly Board meetings, and helping further the mission of Wenatchee Pride. This could increase to 5 to 15 hours per month when we are preparing for the annual Pride Festival.

Executive Committee members (President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer) will spend more time.

Board meetings typically take place on the 1st Monday of the month from 7:00-8:30 PM. Meetings usually take place in person.
